When I started making my cakes I started a photo album on Facebook to keep a portfolio of my creations. My friend Nelia saw these pictures and asked me to make her sisters birthday cake.
This was the first cake that I was paid for.
Her sister loves fairies so I decided to do a Tinkerbell cake. It was by far the hardest cake I have made and a few choice swear words were said a few times. In the end it turned out better than I could have hoped.
I used edible sparkle dust for the wings to make them stand out and had a bit of a fight with the fondant for her dress, but in the end, Nelia was impressed and her sister was so surprised with her cake.
Fairies are the best. :0)
