GO SENS GO!!

Alfredson passes to Fisher, Fisher takes a shot, rebound, Spezza, GOAAAAALLLLL!!!!

This cake was a total last minute project. I was sitting at Fall Ball Playoffs with Andrea having a drink while waiting for our next game to start and she was talking about all of the things that she had planned for Conrads 30th birhtday. There were so many different activities and a hot tub! I asked her what she was doing for the cake and she said, "Oh my gosh! Thank you for reminding me! I have to order one!" I mentioned that I made cakes and that after our next game I had no plans and could whip something up for her so that she wouldn't have to worry about that on top of everything else that she had to do.

So, after discussing what she would have been paying at a bakery and what Conrad liked, we decided on a price and what I would make.

After ball I headed right home to start on my cake. I made 2 rectangular cakes, layered them and started carving out my design. I then started icing it and getting it ready for the fondant and the decorating :D

Red fondant on, black detailing fondant applied, white detailing fondant added and it looked amazing! Not bad for something that was decided upon and made all within an 8hr period.

A Sens Jersey with 'Conrad' for the name and '30' for the number. Complete with the famed "O" on the shoulder.

I got it to their place in one piece and we went about rearranging the fridge so that we could fit the cake in it, all the while Conrad was standing there wondering what it was. Little did he know it was a Sens jersey cake! He was told he wasn't allowed to peek as it was for the family party the next day and off we went to have a couple birthday drinks and veg in the hot tub.

I got a text the next day from Conrad thanking me for his amazing cake, and he couldn't believe that I had come up with it and made it in such a short amount of time.

Andrea has also mentioned me making the cake for her wedding shower :D so we'll see what happens.
