Opening Ceremonies? Valentine's Day? BOTH!!
We had a Valentine's Day celebration at work on the same day as we had our Opening Ceremonies for our 2 weeks of Olympic fun. Wendy made a cake with the Olympic rings on it and I decided to make Valentine's cupcakes.
For these cupcakes I made white cake and took 1/4 of it and dyed it pink. I then filled my cupcake papers (red tinfoily ones) 3/4 of the way up and pipped the pink batter into the centre of the white so that when the baked and were cut in half they would have pink running thru them.
I decided to ice them white and then try out the Colour Mist icing spray in pink and red. I really like the pink one and plan on using it for Kat and Chris' wedding cupcakes, but the red didn't really look red. It was orangish, so I finished the rest of them with the pink spray and topped each one with a raspberry gummy heart.
The finished product was gorgeous and I even had people in the elevator at work commenting on them.
I think these are uber pretty! I may have to make them for the boys. You think it's possible to do it in blue? x
